Hi Claudio!
I'm back and although happy to be back in the slow pace of Alaska -
especially after the very crowded Pasqua weekend in Lido di Camaiore ,Versilia - I miss a great
deal about Italy. Herb and I had a fabulous time, of which Hotel I Pini and villa toscana was
the pinnacle. I well up with tears when I reflect on your kindness,
generosity and the beautiful setting. Thank you for treating us so warmly
and allowing us to share the company of your friends and family. I will
cherish the memory forever.
As for the villa toscana with pool , my wine-stained scribbled note says you'd like to book a
one week stay at the villa toscana- low season (maybe since April is here we do it
October 2005 or April 2006). So my only remaining question is regarding
the value the price is very cheap for this accommodation
Let me know if you'd still like to do this. I'm happy to put something else
together for you and it would truly be a pleasure work with you some more.
Ciao for now!

P.S. Thank you for all the wonderful picture postcards and the cool hat!
Now everyone will want to come to Viareggio and camaiore in Versilia toscana area!
Our trip to Tuscany and lucca was fantastic. The
Villa Toscana was marvelous, even though the road from town was treacherous. We
mastered the "beep beeps" around corners and using the mirrors. What we enjoyed
most was exploring the garden, picking fresh herbs which were abundant, cooking
in the marvelous kitchen with the incredible view. We made pizza in the villa's oven
(quite a challenge) and explored peralta, camaiore, pietrasanta,
Florence and Cinque Terre (Montorosso)...all nice half day trips. Unfortunately,
we could not fit in Lucca. Our host Patrizia was very accomodating and we
communicated well in spite of our limited Italian, claudio speak also englesh .
Also, I would like to thank In Italy for making the
entire process of booking these accommodations so easy. Everything from making
the arrangements via email and the instructions for our arrivals went smoothly.

Hi Jess--
Thanks for your note. We thoroughly enjoyed Villa
Toscana--in Camaiore hill the views from the second floor deck--and out the bedroom window were
wonderful. We spent many hours observing the beauty of the surrounding mountains
and Camaiore in the valley below. We had quite of bit of difficulty finding the
Villa/and Patricia's home. I believe she must have been looking for hour
however, as she appeared "out of nowhere" to help us find the Villa--in the last
0.5 KM. The map we purchased from your website was very useful.
-we enjoyed good service in the town of Camaiore and for them to explore peralta
not only the main "centre" but also the plaza area--where we were able to see a
Prince of Italy visiting the local dignitaries.
The drive to Pisa was fairly short and with a couple of
directions along the way we located the leaning Tower of Pisa and the various
churches within the complex. We did not get to the Cinque Terre area--as it
appeared to be a somewhat complex drive through the autostratas and the town of
La Spezia--and we needed to get an earlier tart--say by 9:00am.
Speaking basic Italian language was a must--we found for
directions, understanding signs and communicating with the local residents.
Overall--a wonderful part of our 2003 Europe trip.
Regards,
Charles B.
Kristin,
The house is really well laid out and comfortable as we
are now warm. And the view is spectacular too! The drive is a bit exciting and
we make sure that we do not try and make the climb up the mountain in the dark.
But once here, it is a fabulous view! We have really enjoyed our stay! Please,
please tell Claudio that we enjoyed the week. It is an extremely comfortable
villa, the swimming pool is very beautiful
pleased! Thank you for your help and we look forward to doing this again!

Description:
The charming town of Camaiore is nestled between the Apuane Alps, a national park, and the famous coastline of Forte dei Marmi, the chic summer playground of the Florentines, with designer boutiques open until midnight for comfortable, after-dinner shopping. This setting offers an interesting combination of options for travellers to Tuscany; easy access by car or train to Portofino and the Cinque Terre, close proximity to the beach and Lucca, day trips to Florence, the spas of Montecatini Terme and Chianti. As the house sits on the edge of town, and therefore within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants, you can choose between the social life of Italian country living, and the private refuge offered by Villa Toscana itself. The Villa in Pieve di Camaiore (Lucca - Versilia), next to medieval village Peralta built in the 1300', was completely re-structured by a noted Tuscany designer for your own enjoyment and use. The result is a very personal and lovely house, elegant and sophisticated and yet immersed in the casual village life of Tuscany, with high privacy. The layout of the home, with fantastic bedrooms occupying the entire first floor, is best for a couple with family or who will be hosting guests (7+2 beds: 3 rooms, 2 bathrooms). There are considerable comforts -- plenty of space for relaxing in private or together, an easy flow from inside to the surrounding garden and all ensuite accommodation. The views are quite remarkable as well, across neighboring rooftops and gardens to the dense green mountains or distant shimmering sea. In an article published in Italian Architectural Digest, the owner describes how she was drawn to 'a sort of fluid magic about the hills of Camaiore.
