Toscana golosa - Cooking school Cookery Course
The
region’s natural beauty, architectural treasures and sublime selection
of food and wine, combine with our warm welcome to invite you to stay
and be our guest.
We want to tell you about our passion for Tuscany,
for the land and how to cook tasty and traditional meals. But words
are not enough... “Toscana golosa” is one of the most renowned
cooking schools in Tuscany. Cooking classes are taking place in the
charming Hotel “I Pini” the old residence of the famous
painter Galileo Chini.
Emiliana Lucchesi is the instructor: she is one of Italy;s most famous
journalists and food and wine writer. She is the author of several books
and articles dealing with this wonderful subject . She is also a columnist
for “Corriere Vinicolo”, “Lusso”, “Le
Vie”, “Azienda Edicola” and the on-line magazine “Focus
wine”.
Tuscany ..passion....Food ...Wines....by your self ..... ..

The school:
The classes are from Monday until Friday from 9,30 a.m. to 12,30.
At the end we’ll taste the dishes we prepared together during
the lesson. The classes are small and only seasonally fresh ingredients
are used. Emiliana will show you how to prepare delicious dishes following
the old, traditional Tuscan recipes collected in her books “Lucchesia
colta e golosa” (1998) and “La cucina della Lucchesia e
della Versilia” (2004): bruschette, soups, pasta, fish, meat dishes
and desserts..

During
your stay with Emiliana Lucchesi we will organize different excursions to wine cellars and
sausage factories to taste the characteristic food and wine expressions
of the area. You may never have heard of a Florentine called Galileo
Chini, nor seen any of his works, but you have witnessed the effects
of his talent all over the country. In the early part of this century,
Chini was largely responsible for introducing the art nouveau style
into Italy (where it is usually referred to as "Liberty").
He founded a ceramics factory that created colorful objects which soon
made their way into thousands of homes, he painted canvases that were
hung in museums ranging from the Uffizi to Rome's Modern Art Gallery,
and he designed sets for his close friend Puccini. Chini's stage designs
for Turandot are the epitome of the Liberty style; perhaps because of
them he was asked to fresco the Royal Palace of the King of Siam. Chini
lived in the Orient for two years. When he returned to Italy he built
a vacation retreat in Versilia and called it Villa Chini. Its large
sunny rooms, delightful ornamentation and century-old park were the
height of luxury. Today that villa is a family-run hotel called Historic
House “I Pini”. We work and life in this corner of Paradise
